About the G1 knowledge test

  • You must be at least 16 years old, pass a vision test, and pass a test of your knowledge of the rules of the road and traffic signs.
  • The ministry does not publish the number of questions or the pass mark. Confirm the current format with DriveTest before you book.
  • Our mock exam uses the widely used practice format of 40 questions in two parts, which is a study structure rather than an official rule.
  • Everything in our study guide and questions is taken from the Official MTO Driver’s Handbook and ontario.ca, and each item cites its source.
